Late last year Akon declared his intentions to sign Nigerian Superstars P Square, 2Face Idibia and the sensational young star Wizkid at an event in Nigeria. He confirmed his interest by jumping on Wizkid’s hit song “Don’t dull” and later did a remix with twin stars P Square on their hit song “chop my money and shot a video as well to confirm he stakes in them.
The Senegalese-American R&B star, Akon today confirmed on twitter that his label, Konvict Music will be handling Nigerian young sensation, Wizkid internationally. He tweeted:
“It’s OFFICIAL!!!!!!! KONVICT/EME is now the official label for WIZ KID worldwide. WOW!!!! Hope u ready!”
Nigerian singer and Wizkid’s boss, Banky W couldn’t hide his excitement as he retweeted Akon’s message for those who might have missed it. He quoted “: -) What he said–> RT @Akon: It’s OFFICIAL!!!!!!! KONVICT/EME is now the official label for WIZ KID worldwide. WOW!!!! Hope u ready!”
